I'll overwhelm 'serious fighter' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-round fight which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.

Briton Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" the American and "defeat" the American as the two fighters met personally to publicize next month's bout.

Former two time unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge disparity - at Miami's venue on 19 December.

Boxer's Mindset

"I plan to break his face and damage his physique. My goal is to show I'm superior," the British boxer, 35 years old, declared.

"I will dominate him completely. That's how fighters think.

"I will genuinely try to injure him. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Exchange

In spite of these statements, a calm Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - normally recognized for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul rather criticized former Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and called him "not serious" after Ngannou declined a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, criticized UK rival Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul is better than Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua stated.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Opponent

In spite of stating he plans to punish Paul, Joshua declined to speak negatively about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he said.

Jake Paul's Background

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since becoming pro.

He lost to Briton Fury in last year.

Financial Attraction

However, the novice remains one of the sport's largest money-making draws, frequently receiving substantial earnings.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28 year old anticipated a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would derail the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently being planned for two years from now.

"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Paul stated.

Physical Difference

As the two fighters participated in the traditional face-off, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it drove home just how surprising this complete situation is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is truly going ahead.
