The second-hand marketplace Shoppers Share Displeasure About Sizing Updates
Vinted users have been reacting angrily following a change that caused listings displaying inaccurate size information.
This online marketplace has revised its measurement guidelines for women's and children's garments but did not contact all users about the change.
Social Media Backlash
Countless users and merchants are expressing on platforms claiming that product pages now present a modified sizing category compared to what was initially listed due to the recalibration.
The company said the revised method more closely matches comparable marketplaces.
They have suggested members to examine their items and update the measurements by hand where appropriate, resulting in member annoyance.
Measurement Approach Modifications
Previously, the measurements included numerical and alphabetical indicators, such as S/8 or M/10.
The new system has a letter with a size spectrum for example S/UK 8-10.
With some products, the measurements have been reclassified - for example a size L was formerly size 12 but currently displays as UK 16-18.

A fashion influencer, who produces content about larger sizing, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder".
"Few clothing companies classify XL as 20-22," the way the service now categorizes.
Stephanie Gallen, located in Scotland, stated items she posted with size 14 tags were appearing on the platform as larger sizing 20-22.
"If buyers measuring 20-22 acquire them they will likely be quite upset," she stated.
Required Changes
A different user, based in Derby, said she had been left angered by the change as she had to manually change the sizes on "every single listing".
"For me this is particularly frustrating, since I have chronic health issues and selling on Vinted has been paramount for me since losing part of my income," she explained.
Marketplace Information
The platform boasts over 100 million shoppers, including 18 million in the UK.
It has become a favored option to second-hand platforms like eBay and Depop.
This represents another occasion where an unanticipated change within the service has received backlash: previously, the service retracted a modification to its shipping options due to shopper criticism.
